My Trip has been Cancelled!! - :-(

As you can imagine, with all the unrest and violence taking place in Egypt my trip was canceled. It was very disappointing and sad for me.  This is a trip that I had planned for months and that I've wanted to take for many many years. 

But I have every intention and the highest faith that I will go to Egypt and it will be fantastic! I'll explore all the things I wanted to see, take the Nile cruise that I intended to take, see the pyramids, eat the food and meet the wonderful people of Egypt. 

It is amazing and historic what the people of Egypt have done and I'm in support of their efforts to bring peace, human rights and democracy to their country.  It's every individuals right.  And no government or dictator should prevent that from happening.

Egypt the world is watching these historic events.  Salam!

My First Post! - January 28, 2011

Why Egypt? some asked when I told them I was planning to go.....others said Egypt!!!! Wow that will be an amazing trip!  and that's exactly why I'm going.

Ever since I was a child I've been fascinated with Egypt's history, culture, people and lately I've discovered its music as well.  It's one of the places on my bucket list, that I wanted to visit and see firsthand. I'll be visiting Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and other cities in Egypt.

So my planned trip is next Wed February 2.  I'm supposed to take a flight from Miami to London with a long layover in London and then off to Cairo.  Now, the recent events in Egypt have a put a huge question mark on whether my trip is on or off.  I'm praying to all the Gods, saints, virgins, Osiris, Isis, Shango, Rabbi Jacob and basically any holy deity to bring peace and tranquility to the region, not so that I can go on my  trip but for the more altruistic reason that it's the right thing for Egypt and its people.

I've been following the news very closely for a few days now and will continue to do so up till the very last minute.........
